  • Go back to Ae, using the same comp you exported at step 1.
  • Customize the source text string for each instance in Pr's EGP.
  • Alt/Opt + drag the resulting aegraphic in the sequence to duplicate it a couple more times.
  • Apply the Ae mogrt into a sequence in Pr.
  • Create and export a mogrt from Ae - Include some property like Source Text.
  • Update: As of Pr 12.1 (which released publicly last week) there is now a feature that we call 'Relink Ae MOGRT in place'. If I'm missing something obvious here, please let me know! I wanted to gut check before I started submitting feature requests. Long story short – there is simply no "reload footage" or "refresh template" option that I can find anywhere. So it looks like the copy is only made during that initial import. I removed that file and it unfortunately did not automatically re-create it and results in an unlinked file. It looks like Premiere makes a copy of the file in an intermediate folder called "Motion Graphics Template Media". However, this did not update the title card in the project sequence.

    mogrt files that comes out of a comp in AE. But since there is rarely anything that is ever 100% locked down, an easy workflow for making changes and replacing the files is still needed. I suspect that the normal workflow is that you would only export these template files when everything is fully locked down.

    The most frustrating issue so far is relating to updates that we need to make to the templates we've already exported. We're experimenting with using Essential Graphics vs Dynamically Linked Comps, and running into a couple of hiccups.
